Made of 100% organic cotton, this piece was woven using a technique called double weave. Jessica hand-painted the warp with natural pigment from walnut hulls, wattle, and chlorophyllin. All of the dyes were sustainably sourced.
When making this collection of pieces, she felt inspired by a redwood trail in Carmel Valley that she often hikes. The trail leads along Garzas creek and then through what feels like a hidden redwood canyon.
Weaving is 10" x 10" and mounted in hand-built white oak frame by Small Works SF.
