Carved and sanded salvaged redwood from Big Sur, California.
7.5” x 7.5” x 3.5”
“These chunky redwood ends used to be the floor of a large restaurant in Big Sur. They were given to me by my dear friend and local artist, Erik Seniska, who has since passed away. I carved them while in solitary retreat at a barn in Big Sur, perched high on a crest with the expanse of the Pacific Ocean gloriously and constantly marking the horizon. The days were hot, and the breeze soft. I can’t help but think that perhaps, if you listen to the blocks closely enough, that you might hear the echoes of conversations that took place all those moons ago.”-Marilet
